    • Can import:
      • Editable Meshes with uvs and multi-materials
      • Editable Polygons with uvs and multi-materials
      • Some basic material information
      • Object transforms
      • Scene basic scale
    • Can not import:
      • Material texture files (user can manually add the missing textures)
      • Changed: Preferences dialog “Loaders” tab was renamed to “Plugins”.
  • Improved: In the list at Preferences > File Formats, formats with Experimental or Beta state are displayed with orange color.
  • Improved: SketchUp Loader – the used SketchUp API version updated to 2024.0
  • Improved: FBX Loader – the used FBX SDK version updated to 2020.3.7
  • Improved: Multiple versions of the same loader can be simultaneously active. When running in parallel, ModelPort will differentiate each loader by displaying the version number within their respective names.
  • Improved: (OSX only) We deploy more versions from the SketchUp and Fbx Loaders to provide compatibility for older systems too (back to MacOS 10.13 High Sierra).
  • Improved: ModelPort displays more detailed text about Loaders/Plugins init errors/warnings on the Preferences > Plugins page.
  • Added: New Preferences > Plugins > param “Allow multiple versions from same Loaders” – In case ModelPort finds more different versions from the same loader, these will run parallel (user can choose witch one is the preferred).
  • Added: New Preferences > Plugins > param “No error if Fallback version exists for the Loader” – In case we have multiple versions from the loader and one of them fails at load, ModelPort won’t handle it as an error if the other one works.

LIGHTs

  • Added: Light display in the 3d viewports
  • Added: New 3d view property parameter “Show Lights”
  • Improved: FBX/Assimp loaders can import basic light information
  • Added: Middle clicking on a light item re-positions the camera target to the 3d center of that item
  • Improved: Double clicking on a camera item (in 3d view or in the Item List) will change the View to Perspective and copies the view position/orientation from the clicked item.
  • Added: New scene popup menu item (right clicking on the scene in the ITEM LIST) Add Item > Light
  • Added: New scene parameter “Subtype” – It is possible to import the library part as object or lamp type.
    • NOTE 1: lights are exported only for lamp sub-types.
    • NOTE 2: lights are not exported currently in GDL mode.
  • Improved: In case we use “import from ARCHICAD” on a lamp library object, ModelPort will set the subtype to Lamp automatically and import the lights too.
  • Added: New control: Preferences > Color > Light Symbol
  • Added: Material emission color and attenuation parameter (ModelPort 3d view shows the effect of the emitter values on the material.)

CAMERAs

  • Added: Middle clicking on a camera item re-positions the camera target to the 3d center of that item

  • Improved: Camera transitions are animated – easier to follow what is happening.
  • Added: New Preferences parameter “Camera transition speed” to control the speed of the animation.
  • Added: FOV parameter for Camera items
  • Changed: The base orientation inside the scene of the camera changed. Cameras (and lights) are facing to the -z axis.

MISC

  • Fixed: (on ATI graphics cards) Material/Mesh selection in 3D view doesn’t work.
  • Fixed: ModelPort crashes during item delete (locator, mesh, material)
  • Fixed: After item delete ModelPort doesn’t highlight the item under mouse cursor until the mouse moved.
  • Added: New item to the ModelPort menu: “Open Manual”
  • Fixed: ModelPort in default switches all licensing Modules off. Now all modules are On by default.
  • Improved: ModelPort doesn’t allow to use the placeholder email address for activation or for requesting a viewer license (in case somebody misunderstood something….).
  • Improved: ModelPort gives a more specific message after server error 503 (server maintenance mode).
  • Fixed: ModelPort suggests using offline mode in cases where offline mode is not allowed.
  • Improved: ModelPort does improved checking for possible ModelPort library file damages (informs the user about it), and prevents loading the library part to avoid crashing.
  • Changed: New Day8 Design logo inside the about dialog
  • Changed: “Scene contains no geometry” warning text was changed to “Scene contains no visible geometry”
  • Improved: Length type parameters are displayed in the actual Archicad length unit. (Spin slider increases length type values by 1 cm in default)
  • Added: Scale sliders on the scene dimensions in the viewport for easier re-scaling.
  • Added: New button in the scene Properties: “Freeze transform”.
    • NOTE: In case the scene was converted from a format where the up-axis is not Z and the scene scale is not 100%, it can be difficult
to find the right axis for move/rotate/scale operations. Freezing the up-axis and the scale can help…
  • Added: New parameter in the scene Properties: “Bottom offset”. Users can adjust the distance of the full scene from the ground.
  • Improved: Default Colors were tweaked (for example Selection color, Selection-child color, Highlight color) for better visual experience.
